Linda,
    Florida statute makes it a second degree misdemeanor to "carry a white 
cane or a white cane tipped in red in the extended position". This seems to 
imply, like you state, that it is a crime to impersonate a blind person! 
(smile) When I had more eyesight (around 1986), I was walking down the road 
with my cane folded up and in my back pocket when a cop pulled over thinking 
it was a martial arts weapon! (grin)
