Hi, Julie,

We rub the horses' coats (their hair coats, that is) with a dryer sheet to 
reduce dry winter weather static from grooming and blankets.  Maybe it would 
work for Monte too.  And it makes the coat smell good also.  I would also 
rub the synthetic coat/blanket with the dryer sheet.
