True. However, I will never forget the sound of snapping latex as the guy
was saying as if it were personally reasonable, "I'm going to need to do a
cavity search of the dog."

I really wish I knew what it was I did differently at that point, because I
tell you what! They were gone and I was putting the harness back on my
un-searched dog within 30 seconds, and they were bringing me my stuff that
had gone through the scanner and rounding up somebody to make sure I got to
my gate okay... /lol/ That last, I could have done without, since it was
another passenger on the flight who took her new duties to take care of me
*way* too seriously.

Still! I hadn't said a word, just sat up and gave the guy The Look.
Probably a good thing I was too shocked and angry to say anything, though.
I did spend all those formative years in real redneck country. I've heard
some pretty, er, earthy threats in my time, and I could have gotten myself
in real trouble suggesting what I was likely to do to him if he started to
trying to get to my dog's cavities... /grin/

I've noticed that all the airport personnel that pat us down and pat our
dogs down wear those latex gloves. I never thought they would do any cavity
checks out on the line! they wear the gloves to avoid coming in contact
with someone's bodily secretions - a practice beginning with dealing with
people with HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases.
