[nagdu] pupp sitters

The thing is that in order to properly use a cane you are going to make
contact with things. If the cane never touches anything, then I don't think
it would be of much use.

Some dogs have a harder time with lots of canes. They are moving objects
that change direction. If a dog hasn't much experience with lots of canes I
can see how they could find it difficult to negotiate that situation.

When I took Belle to convention in 2006, I never felt like there was no
consideration of guide dogs or that her wellbeing was in jeopardy by canes.
Of course there are people who are very adept with their cane and there are
those who lack any level of finesse. Likewise there are guide dog users who
are more skilled and those who just aren't. It is what it is and I feel
it's in very poor taste to judge others harshly based on their aptitude with
O&M skills.

We've all made mistakes both with cane and dog. For that matter even the
sighted folks bump into each other on occasion. ----- It happens, and more
so in large groups of people. I think we need to just take a deep breath
and realize that it's not a slight to us because we choose to use a guide
dog.
