[nagdu] always taking the dog was guide dogs

Hi,
Coincidentily, I did take my guide Misha to a funeral a week ago today. My
dad suddenly passed, and he was buried with military honors. Although I
knew that there would be a 21-gun salute, it did not register in my head for
some reason; guess it was a lot to handle as I reflect back. It was my
dad's funeral though, and he would have wanted her there too. She shook so
bad, and I can hear my dad say, what kind of a hunting dog is she anyway?
We are from a hunting fishing family and those thoughts consumed my mind the
rest of the day.

Linda,
Actually I've never taken a guide of mine to a funeral, so no bad experience
to relate.
Typically I am not in a mental state to be effectively working with my guide
dog. I choose to save us both from undo stress. I don't go to funerals
unless they are close family members. It's not a dog thing, it's just a
weird Julie thing! *smile*
