Tami,

Thank you so much for putting me on the invitation list. I will pencil you
in until I have a more definite date. I'm afraid we'll be doing the yard bit
as well.

Joy,

I have a friend out in eastern Oregon who, when she went in to
semi-retirement, decided that she would chose to spend her time only with
people who make her laugh. She is a very wise woman!

When DD and I win the lottery and buy our huge estate with walking paths and
all those extra rooms -- and a private plane to fly people in, of course, we
plan to host retreatsg, including one or two a year for my blind friends
(and any others!) for good food and entertainment and long walks with our
guide dogs and white canes!

I've put you on the invitation list. /grin/ You make me laugh, too!

Don't hold your breath, since step 1 is winning the lottery, though. We buy
a couple of tickets every Saturday, then plan what to do with our winnings
in our spare time on the weekends... /lol/ Now that it's spring and we're
starting to spend the weekends outdoors on getting the landscaping moved
along in our real yard, I suppose we'll just stick with the plan we have
already in case we win during the summer. /grin/ Lottery plan is a good
enough entertainment during those breaks from boring housework on rainy
Saturdays, especially when you're going through a too broke to go play
period. But when the sun is shining, it's time to get outoors!

Oh Tami,

I really wish that we lived closer to each other. You really make me laugh.
I think that, if you can't laugh at your \self and the silly things that you
do that life just isn't worth it. If life is so serious that you take
yourself that seriously then something is wrong. The other day I was working
with an O&M instructor on a corner that is unusually large and very rounded.
I was attempting to work my way to the grassy area at the edge so that I was
properly lined up to cross that busy street and line up correctly for the
cross walk when my cane touched this thing I didn't remember seeing before.
I was rather intent I making sure that I remembered how to do this, when a
man said, "that's me". I just said "sorry, I was just checking out land
marks and didn't remember that one being there before. He said that that was
pretty funny and went to cross the street. I just started laughing as did
the instructor.
