Sorry for the misspeaking  on that one cheryl. Thanks for the clarification
Marion. How does a telescopic cane differ from the foldable ones with the
elastic cord running thru them?

Albert,
    The NFB makes both straight and telescopic canes and each are available 
in either fiverglas or carbon fiber. The canes used by the NFB training 
centers are carbon fiber straight canes.
