[nagdu] NFB Canes

Lol. I only use the cane in the office or at meetings should I need to move
quickly and not want to disturb the sleeping beast, as if my getting up did
not alert him to get up anyway. I may want to give that type of cane a try.
The solid ones are difficult for me to use, though I really have no clear
cut reason other then I cannot easily lay them on the floor at a restaurant
or at a conference table.

Albert,
The telescopic canes do not have the bungee cord holding them together.
Instead, they telescope out, much like the legs of a tripod. This makes the
cane much smaller than the folding version. Both the fiverglas and carbon
fiber canes are much lighter than the aluminum folding canes, saving a lot
of wear and tear on the elbow! The disadvantage of the telescopic canes is
that the end section sometimes collapses during use, requiring one to stop
and pull it out. A good pull and twist of the section usually keeps it from
doing this. A little Viagra might help, as well! (grin)

Fraternally yours,
Marion
