Also, NYC buses are built on the cattle-car mode, with lots of standing
room.  I've stood many a time, refusing to make some old lady give up her
seat for me.  I put Ben between myself and the front-facing seat, so I can
protect him from people passing. Then I find a seat when the crowd has
thinned out a bit.
