[nagdu] places a guide dog can't go

The animals are fine. They're used to little kids, not all of whom know
how to behave. And they are used to adults, not all of them know how to
behave. Dogs are the least of these animals' concern and they know it.

Hi guys,
I don't bring a guide dog into the petting zoo enclosures. Our zoo
doesn't
allow it. I would think that the dog's presence would really upset the
animals in the enclosure - animals like deer, sheep, and other things.
Plus, you've got TONS of little kids running around and our dogs would
become a part of the petting zoo! Not a place I go to much - unless I
go
with a young member of the family. On those excursions, I put Landon in
the
zoo's assistance dog kennels. If I go to the zoo alone or with a
friend, I
usually keep Landon with me and just don't go to the aviaries or petting
zoo
parts.

If anyone has brought their guide to a petting zoo, what do the other
animals do when they found a dog in their enclosure with them? Landon
has
no problem with other animals. He's good with our guinea pigs, rabbits,
and
rats we broing to Humane Society visitations.

Lyn and Landon
