Oh, yeah. Been there, done that. There was no way I was letting go of a
newbie Mitzi guide. Which seemed to irritate the security guy in Houston.
I really did think about it, but ... Now I wouldn't turn a hair at the
notion. She musta grown up or something.

She was also super shy about having other people touch her, especially if
she picked up a negative vibe from me, which she did there. Then again,
even her bestest human buddies were iffy, although she was startig to warm
up to more and more people. So the pat down made her wiggle and levitate
with anxiety, not joy, and she kept trying to dance around the male agent
and get to me while the female agent patted me down, insisting that I keep
my dog away from her... What a mess!

Don't know how she'll do next time we fly. I kep working on her shyness
issues with rewards and the "controlled greet" and now she's a shameless
hussy! Only with dog and cat people, though. She hes yet to introduce me
to a new best friend who doesn't already adore her. /smile/

So maybe she'll decide to charm the next security team that wants to make
sure we're on the up and up? /grin/

I get the whole "I trust my dog" bit, but what if the dog is new
and you simply don't have enough information or experience to know the
dog will behave according to plan? With the pat down, the dog and you
are together and you can stop the dog if he/she tries to escape or do
something they shouldn't.
It's great to trust your dog, but sometimes you have to fly when the dog
is new

Arrow thinks the agents wish to play with him and he doles out generous
kisses and tries to get in agents' laps.

I use the same method as Mike. Benny loves the pat-down. He's apt to
hand out free kisses to the person doing the patting.

It's a considerable relief to me to know I won't get X-rayed every time
I
go to the airport.
