Oh, yeah, suppose you ought to be kind of tactful. <Grin>

Subject: [nagdu] Question about disgusting dog behavior and how to stop it

Good morning, all.

If any of you are eating, or thinking of eating, as you read this, you might
want to put this message off for a bit. Just a disclaimer.

Caroline and I are living with a friend, her husband, and two small dogs.
Unfortunately, my friend and her husband do not pick up after their dogs.
Someone comes to do it once a week, but, aside from that, piles of poop just
sit in the backyard. Unfortunately, Caroline has decided that these piles
make a wonderful snack, which is a behavior I can not abide.

I spoke to someone at GDF about the problem, and she suggested adding
pineapple to all the dogs' food. She told me that something in pineapple
makes the fecal matter unpalateable for the dog. So, over the past few days,
all dogs have been consuming pineapple. However, when Caroline went out this
morning, she ate poop again. (Sigh)

I hate not to allow her to run free in the backyard, as she really enjoys
playing with the other dogs, and I think it serves as a really good way for
her to relax and decompress after working. However, if she's going to
continue this very disgusting behavior, I'm afraid I'm going to have to
curtail the free-running.

Do any of you have any thoughts or suggestions? If so, I'd welcome them.

Shannon and Caroline
