[nagdu] Does Color Matter?

Caroline has a purple harness and purple leash. Honestly, no one has seemed
to think anything of it. Some people have commented that they think purple
is a good color for her, but, beyond that, nothing has been said. She's just
a guide dog in a harness, and the color of said harness doesn't appear to
make a difference one way or the other.

Okay, given the really serious discussions we've been having latelyg, this
seems trite. But I need to know! And I wonder what others think.

For those who purchase custom harnesses and thus have choices of style and
color, do you think the color you choose has any bearing on your public
impression, say at the work place or in consulting and/or networking? Or
for (gasp!) a potential job interview, where you *really* need to dress to
impress! (In the secret hope of finding a high-paying, personally
fulfilling job in a great environment where you can wear jeans and sneakers,
naturally. If you're me, anyway, you hope for that.)

Here are my color coordination/make an impression considerations:
Jet black poodle guide
Medium to charcoal gray interview suit (my sure fire gray suit
mildewed in La Grande, along with the rest of my foundation professional
wardrobe. Grim) with blouse in red/blue color tones - maroon to burgundy or
a good purple, unless I default to navy or cream.
Black or burgundy leather shoes
Same for purse/brief case/bag, depending

My preference in harness color for my "dress harness" is Pawpower Purple!
It's a great purple, it will look ultra sharp on my jet black classy poodle
guide...

I'm considering their burgundy, though, because it would also look great on
my snazzy black dog and would work well with my wardrobe colors, but be a
bit more understated and, I dunno, may be seen as more serious or something
than purple might be. But I love the purple!

Anyway, before anyone thinks about going to any work to come up with a
detailed, analytical answer, remember that this is me we're talking about.
/lol/ Llike any self-respecting math/physics/computer geek (in that order!)
I have to dress myself by the numbers, using carefully researched
algorithms, and can still only hope I don't manage to screw it up. And that
was back when I could see what I was doing! When it comes to
professional/business dress - and to some extent casual to dressy - I'm
still following the rules I learned in the late 70's from the Women's Dress
for Success book...

Is there a Guide Dog's Dress for Success book, perhaps? /lol/ I think a
well-maintained leather program harness is a great accessory for any
occasion. But since I hape options for color in not basic leather... I
suddenly wonder what the rules are! How can I develop an algorithm if I
don't know which rules apply. OMG! What to do! /lol/

Okay, now I'm off to the store in my new walking sneakers... Who cares if
they're white and it's afte rLabor Day? They're comfy and great to walk a
mile at poodle speed! /grin/
