[nagdu] New to the list

    Hi Bertha,

I too am relatively new to the list joining three or four weeks ago.  Thus 
far I've been relatively silent, just listening and learning since I do not 
yet have a dog.  I too will be going to the Seeing Eye this summer, probably 
in the class after yours.  Like you I am looking forward to the adventure 
but like you I am somewhat apprehensive since I'm an inexperienced air 
traveler and uncertain about all sorts of things.

One major difference between you as well as  many others on this list and me 
is that I will be sixty five years old at the end of May and after being 
blind for more than fifty years and after using a cane for about 45 of those 
years I've decided that I want the freedom and options that a dog will 
allow.  I don't know if I'm their oldest first-time dog user or not but I 
must be among them.  I too am sure that I will have lots of questions in the 
coming weeks and months.  I wish you the best as you go to New Jersey in May 
and I hope you will keep the list informed about your adventures.  Good
