[nagdu] Quick Question

Tracey, You have good points here.
I also did musical festivals with my dogs. I find it way easier to not havea dog when I do this. I find dancing way easier without a dog to worry about. If I go someplace and there is a pool (some festivals have pools) it's way easier to swim.
Funny what drives ease of use and enjoyment.

Subject: Re: [nagdu] Quick Question

I don't see working with a dog necessitates "putting the dog's needs
first." I see it as fitting the dog's needs in with my own, and making
sure the dog's needs are met. Last night I went out after work. I
relieved the dog, and fed him early, as I wouldn't be free anywhere near
his usual time. That's all.
In my wild youth, I fed the dog sometimes in a parking lot, or a public
restroom. Once or twice, when I was on a trip that lasted longer than
planned, I fed the dog a plain burger, or a bagel, something like that.
Not the best, but it worked.
I've known dogs who adapted to owners who slept late and stayed up late.
Not a problem.
My college dog went to more than one outdoor music festival--many in fact,
as I was playing with the bagpipe band, and we travelled around to several
competitions. I just made sure the dog got some cool water regularly, and
found us a shady spot when I could. She was fine.
One has to make room for the dog's needs, and take them into
consideration, but that doesn't mean one has to live a restricted life.
JMO.
Tracy
