Hi, Julie and Monty,
I've used a rolling duffle bag on occasions back when I was in college.
Yes, I still experienced times of it tipping over, but it worked well for 
the post part.
I worked Odie on the left hand side and pulled the duffle bag with my right 
hand.
The handle was long enough for moving around.
It also has roller blade wheels.
It may be between 20 to 30 inches, but I don't recall with my memory.
