Hi Buddy:

Of course it is an unpopulare opinion which you are totally entitled to have . However, what we are talking about is equitable access to information. A sightred person has so many ways of finding an address or phone number. They might have the flyer from the mail, see the billboard, be reading the newspaper, using their phone, using the phone book, and the list goes on. As a person who is blind, at any particular time I may not have adccess to many, or any, of the same tools. I do not have a data plan and even if I did on my pda phone it would not be so simple to get the internet up and running and then do the search and get the results.

So you may think it is not a required service but I disagree and believe that equitable access to information is always needed and we shouldn't ever make the assumption that everyone is able to use, can afford, or has the same level of technology as you or I might.

Gary
