Hi, Margo,
Pilot does give us ownership of the dogs upon completion of the program.
They will investigate if someone tries to claim the dog is being mistreated 
or abused though.
I've had that happen to me once and instead of the school coming out, 
someone reported me to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
After that whole unexcusable so-called incident, I immediately phoned Pilot 
and told the Executive director what had happened and reassured him that 
Odie was being treated kindly and being taken care of.
I honestly admitted to him that if I didn't love Odie as my partner, why 
would I have gone into training for him in the first place.
Jay Gray believed me and said that nothing seemed wrong or out of the 
ordinary and no weird reports had been sent to them in regards of Odie and 
I.
Odie loves me as much as I love him lots.
