Regardless of the age or ability of the victim in any instance, the burden
of responsibility for the care of a pedestrian blind or otherwise rests in
the hands of the individual behind the wheel. No one can be sure of any of
the circumstances around this accident unless they witnessed this incident
first hand, or were in some part or way involved. one of those individuals
is dead, there should in the least be an investigation into the incident to
at least make every attempt to see that it does not happen again.

Julie,

Myself from someone who used to drive, and never thank god hit anyone, how
do we know what exactly happened, we don't' know I am now blind, and of
course understand a lot more than I used to but to jump all over me, in my
mind is not professional. It is not that I was being cynical or something to

the fact at all.

Yes someone is paying dearly for the mistake, which is the guilt that those
2 drivers will have carry the rest of their lives. I can understand if they
didn't stop and help, which they did, I am also sure that they were
questioned by the police and the family.

If in your own words and 8 year old child, maybe ran out in the street
alone, it could have happened as well, and I am sure if it was the Mayor's
child you know of course it would be all over the news, etc. If it was
someone else's kid 8 years old not the Mayor's child that did the same thing

sighted or blind, would probably not make the headlines as well.

Making turns when driving sometimes you cannot see what is going on after
the turn. Yes the driver's should have slowed down if they knew that the
turn is that bad, etc.

They might have gotten tickets for like you said negligence for going to
fast etc. We don't know that in this story.

Unfortunately it was a horrible accident.
