Well, the hard fact is that people, deep down, very often think our lives 
are expendable.  The flight attendant who tells us that if the plane has a 
problem and people have to get out of there for us just to wait and someone 
willcome to get us.  yeah, right, sure, I'm going to wait, uh, sure, I will. 
(another thing said sarcastically).
