The Ruffwear ones we got with our dogs from Seeing Eye look like little tennis shoes. Perhaps the ones you got weren't sized properly?

>> The neighborhood is spelled B E A C O N Hill. And yes, the streets wwere old cow trails! The Boston Commons used to be a cattle grazing place back then. I used to live in Boston and they are notoreous for not knowing what a sidewalk plow is and I had to do it all with a cane as well! Now, I live in Sunny California! And see the lovely snow on the TV news! I haven't been in snow for the last 23 years and that's OK by me! We do get it in our local mountains.

>> Landon was raised in Philidelphia and I'm sure he played in the snow there. He's a California dog now and we both hate it when it gets too hot. He sometimes needs booties to protect his feet from the heat of the blacktop of the streets during our street fairs. Youo'll most likely use them to protect from the rock salt that is EVERYWHERE in Boston during the winter.
>>
>> Good luck with the new dog and enjoy Boston. I wish I could afford to come back there to visit! I lived in the Brighton area west of downtown on the Green Line trolley.

I am 6ft tall, and, I couldn't touch the tops of some of the snow banks with my cane. I hope this year is not as bad.

The FHA probably applies to the dormitory, but perhaps not because it is limited to only students. I'll e interested to read others responses. Accommodations regarding the in class educational experience would fall under a different law, probably the ADA. Visitors to the campus would be subject to the ADA and the college's request for documentation from visitors is most definitely not appropriate or legal.

Well, I have finely been accepted, and I will be receiving a dog from Fidelco on January 3. Because I live in the dorms on campus, I informed the Suffolk ODS office about my getting a guide dog. And, hear is a few excerpts from there service dog policy. For the entire policy you can visit http://www.suffolk.edu/studenthandbooks/47571.html.

(What does that mean?) A copy of the proof of certification should be filed with the Disability Services Office (for CAS and SBS students), the Dean of Students Office (for Law Students) or Human Resources Office (for faculty/staff/administrators). Visitors or guests may be required to provide documentation to the Suffolk University Police Department.
