I think I used to have a more black and white view of this issue myself, but really, dogs are far more flexible than what you are stating, Jordan. If you get a dog out, if you keep up its discipline, and if you work it whenever you can, you don't lose its training. Especially the discipline is important. I am not completely sure how I feel if someone was in a situation where they went off often and left the dog and didn't work it; probably a little differently, but situations such as Peggy's and many others really does not constitute misuse or abuse, or a wasted dog. I really think you will do well to learn a few more lessons of life before you pass these sweeping judgments because they hurt people deeply. You do have a right to an opinion, but sweep judgments are really rather unfair and harmful.
