I know I am seriously late in responding. I was at the NFB convention, and
because of the huge amounts of emails being generated by lists, I could not
keep up. So now that I am home, I can respond. 

Since I am a moderator and Julie is not here to speak at this time. I will
comment. 

We do not object to anyone giving or sharing their opinion. But when its
bashing of the NFB that is where the line is drawn. I have read the messages
on this thread. The NFB has these policies for a reason. And no you do not
have to agree with them. 

I have noticed some off topic posts in this thread, please lets say on
topic. And people be nice to each other. 

I also do agree, that to be a good blind person is not to always agree with
everything the NFB or any other organization does. If we were to blindly
follow all the time, nothing would change. If you are interested in getting
this policy or any other policy changed, then go to the NAGDU meetings, get
involved, and run for office, do something about it. Do not bash, don't moan
and groan about it, change it. 

As a moderator, I won't allow anyone to bash another person, that is the
same as bashing the NFB. You can state your opinion, you can disagree all
you want, but be respectful!

I'm not sure if you're intending to come across this way, but you're making
it sound as if people are not welcome to express their opinions on this
list. Not everyone is going to agree with every policy an organization sets
forth, and many will choose to express their opinions. The last time I
checked, this was not a list where we were spoonfed thoughts and expected to
swallow them without uttering a word of complaint. Saying that a topic is
stupid implies a lack of respect for the people participating in the topic.
I, for one, object to this.

Julie, as list moderator, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on
this. Are we, or, are we not, allowed to express opinions that are not in
agreement with current policies set forth by the NFB?
