Michael, your tribute to Roselle is beyond outstanding. It is all
over the net, in so many yahoo and google groups and private list-serves.
I've heard more than a few say the story of Roseelle is on TV as well.

About two months ago I read "Attack on New York city", a non-fiction
book about September 11, the before and after. Your descent down those
stairs with Roselle is described by nearly every step, her working without a
drop of water almost the entire way.

However it does not end there. You two just happened to catch one of the
only three outgoing northbound trains to the area where you and your wife
lived then. Watching the towers collapse, she thought she had lost both of
you.

It was amazing that so many folks let you and Roselle through to the
front of the line -- so that you were able to board that train.

Well, I'm not shy, so I plastered your eulogy into most every group
where I hang out,and to friends.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful dog. What an amazing thing for these
two to have survived 9/11 together and gone on to share their experiences.
It surely makes us realize how special these awesome animals are, what they
are capable of, what they give to us, and how we in return help them. It's a
bond that too many miss out on.... Just absolutely beautiful...

I have ordered Michael's book for my Kindle and anticipate it's arrival.

GOODBYE TO A HERO

It is strange for me to be writing this article while I have feelings of
both sadness and joy in my heart. Nevertheless, it is something which must
be done.

I have the solemn obligation to inform you that my hero guide dog, Roselle,
who was with me in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, passed away
last evening, Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 8:52 PM. I am sad, of course,
because I will miss Roselle so very much, more than any of my other guide
dogs. I write with joy because Roselle is in a better place, no longer
feeling pain, while I get to have so many fond memories of her.
