[nagdu] Beyond the Obvious...How Does Your Guide Assist You?

Hm... So far, I have not discovered such a thing. Recovering my physical
health has been a pretty long process, though, then I had to relearn or
finish learning some of things like braille that I couldn't do with numb
hands. Which has been frustrating, since getting physical therapy to speed
up my recovery requires more financial resources than I have from SSDI
alone... So now I have those skills under my belt and improving, although I
need to get one thing finished and start on computer and Nemeth braille...
I have a resource for that, so it's just a matter of finishing my last
tidbits and getting started on that. Yay!

Actually, I am once again pondering how to approach getting back to work,
because completing that one last goal is also my mark to start either
seeking out a job or trying to figure out how to come up with tools to
freelance at something. /smile/ With DD about to retire, the decision is
not so cut and dried, plus there's a possibility we may move out into the
hinterlands where my father lives so that he can stay in his home... We'll
see.

So thanks for reminding me about seeking out sponsors. I don't know why I
never think of that. /lol/ I was carping to a friend about needing a new
eye exam to have proof of a print disability, and she reminded me about the
Lion's club... D'oh! So while we're waiting to see what my dad wants to do
and how DD's retirement plan looks and so forth, I can investigate some of
those organizations and stuff.

With my fancy poodle to charm and woo them for me, of course! We're still
getting used to our new purple Laveau style harness, which I'm liking and
need to break in some more so I can write a proper review. /grin/ My jet
black poodle wears it well, and I did do a brief stint with it in heels and
lived to tell the tale. /grin/ We still have our red sports harness, too,
so the poodle can dress for any occasion!

Do you have a women's business club such as the women's Small Business
Owners net work? Maybe they can turn you onto sponsors and grants.
