Buddy, I'm interested. Can you send it?
Sounds like with most things, what we know today as a finnished product didn't happen in sequential steps for a good while.
It also sounds like the predisessors to Seeing Eye did give us something, knowing what doesn't work is just is useful as knowing what does.
Of course, documentation matters and those who document get to tell the story their way.

Oh, I think Peter Putnam is probably to be believed. Granted he was a board member of TSE for years, but I suspect what he wrote is pretty up and up.
