Again,it's due to people not working with her and "patience" falls into 
play.
I say shame on the individuals who gave up on her as that could have been 
prevented.
I'm sure she could have learned routes and various things if she was given a 
chance or encouraged to do so.
Truth is that it depends on each individual, I guess.
I've used sighted guide with my mother, but that was before I was allowed to 
take my cane home and use it.
