[nagdu] guide dog schools

Hey Hannah,

I can't speak for other schools. But GDB does reimburse for vet expenses.
Also, at least last I knew, their ownership policy was that you could
request it after the first year. But you don't have to get it if you don't
care either way. Ownership doesn't make you lose any benefits. You still
get vet reimbursement, follow up, assistance if you're having trouble,
things like that. I I have ownership of my guide Olga, but I requested that
for personal reasons. I never cared one way or the other before. However,
it is vital to many, and there are a number of schools who give you
ownership from day one.

Subject: [nagdu] guide dog schools

Hi all,
I think working with a school with many representatives in a lot of the
States would be a plus for me in case something goes wrong. Also I'd want to
attend a school where I don't have complete ownership of the dog, at least
for now since I'm a college student. Being a college student, I will also
need financial help from the guide dog school for vets. I'm not sure if this
is asking for a lot or if there are any schools that offer these things.
Please let me know if you have suggestions or ideas.
Thanks in advance, Hannah
