No, it just means that waving is a gesture that comes naturally to you. It has nothing to do with being aware.

Naw, I just walked from my apartment to the bus stop. I chose this
rout because it has 1) a few steps, 2) sidewalks, 3) no-sidewalk
spots, where I have to walk on the side of the road, 4) two street
crossings, one with audible signal and one without...and finally, it
is about 15 minutes of walking. Oh, and it also has a round-about that
I have to maneuver through, which is kinda tricky.

Sopmething totally unplanned in the video that I think is pretty cool
is that a jogger passes me as I'm being video-taped, and I wave to him
and he says 'Hey gang'. I think this is cool because it shows that I'm
aware of my surroundings enough that I can casually wave to someone
passing.

I'm so excited to have my application all ready to turn in. I'm going
to send it this coming week, and nudge my friend to e-mail the
recommendation that she promised to do (reference, whatever)...and
then my appplication will be complete! I hope to go to GDF this coming
summer...that should give plenty of ti me for them to match me with a
dog, right? I want to go during hte summer because I don't do so well
in harsh cold weather, and I know New York's winter is harsher than
here in North Carolina.

Sorry I'm rambling, I'm just excited to get this done so I can get a
guide dog! I'm so ready to be part of that special kind of team that a
handler and guide dog become.

Yours truly,
Jewel
