Last I heard, they're called parti-poodles, or parties. /lol/ Or has
that changed? I hear they are quite adorable, even for poodles. Scary
thought. /lol/

Funny what you pick up about the types of dogs we all have and love. I
always thought a lab was a lab and a golden retriever was a golden
retriever. Now I'll hear myself at the dog park talking knowledgeably
about bench labs vs. field labs... Or observing the retrievers and going
on about -- or asking, since I really only think I see the dogs these
days, sort of filling in what I notice of light and shadow. German
shepherds still seem to be German shepherds, I guess, although there's a
difference between the American German Shepherd and the German German
Shepherd, which is making a come back, I guess, to correct the problems
bred into the American variety. Thank heavens! Some of those
differences, I guess, are good to know, whether you're getting a new dog
from a program and want to know more what to expect or just learn more
about the dog you have and its behaviors. And, of course, we do need to
know how to describe them in detail to, well, everybody. /smile/
> So I'm really happy that I finally know that, while poodles don't have
distinctions like the labs -- field lab vs. bench lab, American vs.
British, etc., there is a show type with a show coat and a working dog
type with the working dog coat. So I can describe Mitzi now as a working
type poodle, which tells nobody anything, because most people don't
know. But it makes me feel better knowing I used the right words. /lol/
And I can answer questions better when people ask. Saying, "Uh..." just
never makes me feel dignified and confident! /lol/

I also wonder if they have a name for the reverse, poodles with black feet on white? I guess those would look like they had dirty feet though!
