[nagdu] some advice

Dan, I was joking with someone at the dog park who has kids and dog...
Young dog still being socialized with the kids, learning to play gently
with them. /smile/ I questioned his statement that if it was between the
dog and kids, he would take the kids. Was he sure about that? He thought
about it and then decided that, no, he'd keep the kids. Ah, I said
wisely. They're still young and cute. Yup. Not teenagers yet, so cute
enough and sweet enough to keep around. In a few years, he believes he
might reconsider. /lol/

When it's someone else's kid... Well, then you can ditch the kid for the
dog. Kids who love dogs are much more fun, anyway, especially if their
parents don't hang around fretting about what the dog will do to their
kid... Then they can go home with their kid and I can go home with my
dog, and everybody's happy! /smile/

Er... That's a bit of sarcasm there. Of course, parents should shepherd
a child through any interaction or approach with a dog they don't know,
guide dog or otherwise. I hear that pretty frequently as the background
noise through which I travel with my curly adorable one, and it always
makes me smile. I especially makes me smile when they're telling their
children abut service dogs and all and they have it right. Or sometimes,
I will hear a kid explaining it seriously to the parent, while the
parent says, "That's right. The dog is working." Very cool.
