Hi, all,
I ended up leaving Odie at home and just used the white cane.
It was going to be around the mid eighties to upper nineties which Odie doesn't doo well in high temps.
I'll admit that if it wasn't good for him to be out in it, than I probably should have not either, but ended up having to.
One particular matter is that Colorado is already dealing with wild fires again and the air quality is rough for those who are sensitive to bad air pollusion upon those who have respiratory ailments.
My little friend which is my portable oxygen tank ended up being used and it was definitely a good life saver for me medically.
Now for the part of traveling with my cane.
After deboarding the bus on the southwest corner of Evans Avenue and Federal Boulevard, the adventure began.
Since the area of where many buses pull in to the transfer point, the sidewalk kept curbing in and out and my cane kept getting caught on things.
I ended up grabbing on to another member of the bowling league and took sided guide as I didn't feel I wanted to put up with the part of frustration.
When my friend Nat and her guide dog Liam left the bowling alley, I did sighted guide again, but still used my white cane in the process.
Am not sure what the weather will hold in store for next weekend.
I'm grateful for learning cane travel as it does come in handy when being in between dogs or if partner becomes medically ill.
I don't mind using it, but feel that the cane does slow me down, especially when it does get caught or stuck on things in general.

I know I'll be matched with a new four-legged furry partner again.
