Hi every one, Mardi here. I am just now catching up on all my emails as a
certain young dog who's name begins with a T,decided to chew on my mouse
cord.It must have tasted better than all of her chew toys as it was chewed
in half and I think she ate part of it..........I could not punish her as I
did not catch her in the act. But I know it was her, because she is the only
dog in my possession that chews!I now have a new mouse. Tipton has a long
way to go before she even gets close to guide training. She is going to the
vet to get spayed on Friday. I am hoping that will settle her down some.We
are working on obedience now but her attention span is still very short.
She is learning though. We are still working on house manners........and
oh......that voice of hers. The word BANSHEE comes to mind. When she is
crated and I leave the house, she sounds like she is being beaten or
tortured! Oh well, I chose to work with a one year old puppy that had never
had any training. This is going to take time and patience.......Maybe by
the time Shaman is thinking about retirement, she may be ready to be a
guide dog.I was out paying the phone bill the other day and poor Shaman was
accosted by 2 very unruly dogs that were leashed but hardly under control
by their owner. These dogs leaped off their owner's lap, and lunged and
barked and growled and jumped all over Shaman. He was very good about it
.Shaman just stopped and waited for the owner to drag them away and then we
proceeded on our way.The owner of these dogs never said a word, she just
dragged the dogs away and left in silence.Did she think, that if she were
silent, that I would not know that she was on the other end of the leash?
Why do people bring such badly behaved dogs out in public? They could at
least give them some training before having them around people and other
well behaved dogs.I get so disgusted as this scenario occurs often around
here. Mardi and Shaman and Tipton, future GDIT,I hope.
