Welcome to the list Laural and Jenny. I am Mardi from Tucson Arizona. I am
an owner trainer and working my third guide. Shaman is a Belgian Shepherd
and he is 3 years old. I am also training a Siberian Husky that I hope will
be a guide dog some time in the future.My first 2 guides were Siberian
Huskies. I lost Nala, my second guide this last August from cancer.It was
very sudden and unexpected and I miss her very much. She was the best guide
dog I ever had. She was very special and as closed to perfect as a guide
can be. Shaman is a wonderful guide and his traffic work is outstanding.
Some times I think he has ESP when it comes to traffic.Laural, I am glad
that Jenny has such a good friend in you. Jenny, I am sorry you have been
through such a a bad situation.I am glad that you have a wonderful dog
Laural and I hope that Jenny has better luck with her next dog. I will say
a prayer for this.As for those who were unkind to you both, Well, I am a
firm believer that what goes around,comes around and they will get back
what they dished out. Put them out of mind now.I hope you will enjoy this
list as much as I do. I have learned a lot from the people on this list. I
hope I have at times been helpful to some of the people here as well.I have
found the people on this list to be like a family helping each other.I do
rescue work with Huskies and am familiar with placing dogs in good homes.If
you would like any suggestions on placing your retired guide dog, I would
be glad to help. You can contact to me off list at
