[nagdu] walking in to objects

My dog doesn't shed much because she is a poodle. I'll think about testing
her though.
I'm not trying to be bitter about this, but maybe I am... she's had more
health problems than any other dog, especially for a new user. I love her
dearly and I want to do everything to solve her walking me in to poles and
such, but I feel like all these health things will just push me over the
edge one day.
She had her last giardia test yesterday, and thank goodness it was negative.

When the thyoid is either underactive or overactive. Most
vets won't test unless you ask, and there are two types of test. You want
the full pannel test.
Two of the symptoms are excessive shedding and unpredictable behavior.

Most vets don't understand how our dogs work, so just tell yours you need
this test done. If they won't, find one who will.

I suspect my first dog had this problem. I didn't know what a thyroid was
back when I had her.

All you've got to loose by having this test done is about $100. If it's
positive, you can treat with meds if you so choose. If not, you can feel
better about not using this dog.

Rebecca,
I will get her eyes checked. What is a thyroid malfunction?

While you're on the medical test route, why not look at a thyroid
malfunction?
It can make dogs act weird if it isn't functioning properly.

She does get distracted a lot, and I mean a whole lot and by everything that
moves. However, I don't think she is distracted when she walks me in to
something because she did make enough room for herself. Speaking of which,
I'm not sure that she is good an estimating because she is always bumping
herself in to things as well but those are the times when she's not working.

Is she distracted by something when she is running you into things? It will
take time, but this should not be recurring so much in my opinion.
