Jennifer,
Glad the finding of a home for Brooks worked out.

Pain - I hear you on that one.  Been there, done that for all seven dogs I 
had and will for Landon when he retires in a coouple of years.

It is good this way.  You'll have the time to process his loss and then open 
the door to your new pup.  You will then be ready and rarin' to go with a 
new dog.  Your heart will be big with the love of all your loved ones and 
there's always room for more.
