Bibi,
Ignoring her won't work because she'll just keep staring and in some cases,
howling too. I normally just correct her and have her do some sit-ups and it
seems to work relatively well.

Hi, Hannah,
Advice I can give like others have given similar ones is that as soon as
Pricess spots other small animals like squirls or chimpmunks scurrying
abount, immediately stop and drop your harness handle while tightly keeping
the leash in your hand.
Have her sit for a few minutes and then try to walk again.
If that behavior starts up again as Julie J mentioned, turn around and go
back a few steps to try again.
Next part will require some obedience exercises in the hopes that will
regain her focus.
I've had to use the above methods with Odie plenty of times when he's been
distracted really bad on occasions.
Thankfully, he doesn't have anything to do with other smaller animals listed
above.
If the problem keeps consisting, then it's time to place a call into Pilot.
Hope this helps.
