[nagdu] question about chest pad

Hi,

Having been through three unsuccessful dogs at one school. I have learned one thing.

Though dealing with a faster dog is kind of a pain at first. It is much easier to slow down a faster dog, than to speed up a slow dog. In fact, the latter is just not possible. that's why sometimes, a school will give you a dog that is a little faster than you need them to be. So you can slow them down to your pace.

also, it's important that you show your school, with whatever method they use to test your pace and such, your true pace, and not your fastest pace. also, I have heard from others, that sometimes, it is uncomfortable, and sometimes hard to trust your dog enough to walk faster than you're comfortable, as you have never been able to walk that fast in your comfort zone due to being frightened of things that might come up. We all know that we have to walk a little slower with our canes, but it is possible to walk faster, if we truly trust our dogs.

If the dog is going faster than you can physically handle. then, it is easier, as I've said above, to slow that dog down, than to speed up a slow dog.

anyway, just my observations and opinion.
