Anybody find it irronic that the guide dog movement started in Europe and also regressed in Europe?

Hmmmmm, anyone know how to resurect Morris Frank and send him and Buddy to
Sweden to straighten out those folks who don't see the benefit of blind
folks having guide dogs! LOL!

Seriously, Buddy, you're right and it took the U.S. blind to organize to get
what we have today.  the Swedes and other countries need to do the same
thing in their countries.  they can look to the U.S. for guidance -
something we didn't have in the 1920s.

Wow.

The law and the public didn't necessarily have our back in the 1930's, or,
indeed, later. That shift happened gradually, and with no small amount of
effort on the part of guide dog users and those who *did* have our
collective backs. Why should it be any different for people in countries who
aren't so far along this path as we now are? This stuff didn't happen
overnight nor digit happen in a vacuum.
