Hi every one, Yesterday was money day for me so I went to the bank. My bank
is located in the University area and because they are putting in the new
Trolley tracks, there were a lot of detours, closed off areas and places that
Shaman and I have never encountered before. I was getting frustrated
because when I tried to cross the street to avoid a detour,I could not even
get on the side walk .It was blocked off and I could not find a curb cut to
get my wheelchair on to the side walk.Shaman already knew that we were
going to the bank and he knows the way there. I finally just gave him free
rein and let him find the way. He zig-zaged around and found the detours
and in some cases he had to find the curb cuts, making his own detours. I
could just about see the the little wheels in his brain turning while he
was figuring out where to turn and where to find curb cuts so that we could
safely get to the bank.He got me there and back to the bust stop, never
missing a step.I am so proud of him. He has really become a great guide
dog.I have complete trust in him.I decided to give him a treat. We stopped
before going home and had some Ice cream. I had Mint chocolate chip and
Shaman had his small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Then we headed for
home. Mardi and Shaman and Neechee,GDIT.
