[nagdu] Finding Certain Things

Yep, we do this at GDF and we're encouraged to teach the dog to find other
things, too.It starts by going to the object and giving it a name and really
praising the dog while saying that object name. It does sound a bit weird
to people on the outside, I mean, when you hear "Good girl, good Bench" it
does sound weird. It does work, though.

Jenine Stanly or some of the other GDF grads on here can give a more
detailed summary, but that's basically it. it depends on you and your dog
if you want to use treats, clicker, or both. I don't think GDF stresses the
treats and clicker approach as much as they used to. I've never had formal
instruction with the clicker and frankly I don't think I could manage the
praise, the clicking, and the treating at the same time, but then again I
can barely walk and chew gum, so YMMV. <grin>

Hey, guess what! guess what! guess what! Aww crap, I forgot!
