Hi,

It's odd. The sound from the headphones is in your ears. It's a full stereo image. But the sound of the outside world is also in your ears. Outside sound can still drown out your headphones, if it's loud enough, but sound from the headphones, if it gets loud enough, tickles, so you probably won't have it too loud for too long. It's kind of hard to explain, but you really do get both whatever's in the headphones and an undiminished hearing of your immediate surroundings as well.

What's it like, say, to hear something your gps is saying and something you are listening for with your ears such as traffic. By the headphones not being over or in your ears, do the sounds have the same volume? Does your brain seem to process the two sounds as more separated than, say, if the headphones were over or in your ears?

>> Nope. I definitely meant to send it here. I may have not sent the original post here mentioning these headphones, but it really is relevant. Think of using a talking GPS. Speaker placement is very difficult, and putting things over or in your ears isn't exactly the safest option. The Aftershokz headphones would plug into your GPS, and they actually fit in front of your ears, not over them, and use your cheekbones to conduct the sound into your ears. Thus, you have the GPS directions (or whatever), and also don't compromise hearing sound in your environment that would alert you to trouble. Since these could potentially make travel with navigational aids much safer, I believe it's certainly relevant.
