I don't think adding a piece of avacado would be harmful, but I don't know
how much would be required to actually help, either.
I used to put the Pet Tabs fatty acid supplement on the dog's food.  It
seemed to help.  I haven't used it since I switched to a high-quality
food, Canidae.  Ben doesn't seem to be afflicted with dry skin all that
much.
