>From what I understand, or rather interpreting, it seems to revolve more
around the rights of people using guides and how it has morphed to where we
are today. I guess in that sense, I would go back to the larger civil
rights movement that swept this country in the 50's into the 60's, and start
to blend in the blind movement or vise versa, and perhaps consider laws that
may have protected individuals using guides as it is most likely that at
that time, guides were probably the only type of service dog to be found and
identified. Consider housing access, public accommodation access and even
yielding to the right of way to a person using a guide. I realize that some
of the historical aspect pertaining to the development of dog guide
organizations, has played a role as well, and the business support and state
and possible federal power behind these organizations that propelled them
into where we are today. Honestly, I would be very interested in what this
youngster findsout in his research and would be thrilled to read it.

I know Marion said to reply off-list, but I've been trying to think of stuff
and haven't actually thought of much. I wondered if others had.
There's a bit about working for access for guide dogs in First Lady of The
Seeing Eye, I think. I think there may be a little in the one-man play
about Morris Frank, the name of which escapes me just now. I can't really
think of much else. Can anyone else?
Or maybe I'm misinterpreting what's being sought?
