[nagdu] Re-Teaching a Dog to Alert for Off Schedule Break

Hi all,

 

I hope everyone is well.  I'm trying to catch up on e-mails as I had
computer issues recently.  Lots of great reads so far from the group.

 

I wonder if anyone has suggestions as to how to teach a dog to alert when
they need to go out for an unscheduled bathroom break.  I've thought about
using the clicker for the front door but am not sure.  I've also placed a
bell on the door knob.  Someone suggested to me that I give a treat when the
dog does all business .  I'm at a loss for how to train her to ring the bell
when she needs to go out.
