hi, Marion.

If I remember correctly, the GDF doesn't advise bathing very often at all,
about once a year. I realize this sounds nasty, but a healthy dog who is
regularly groomed won't smell. In fact, bathing too often could bring on
some of the allergies and irritations in the first place.

The only exceptions to this are if the dog is ill, has food or skin
allergies, or has rolled in something disgusting.

Now this could be different for dogs other than Labs. Labs are naturally
oily, and getting them wet often just causes them to produce more oil unless
something else is going on (see above).

I also know how the heat and humidity in FL can magnify smells, so the
bathing frequency might be different down there.

It would be interesting to have these folks contact their schools to see
what basic bathing advice they give just by way of comparison.

Lisa

I'll try anything once, especially if it's chocolate covered!
