[nagdu] the look was Mark's dogs

Mark,
Monty does "the look" too. I've gotten comments from several people
about Monty's facial expressions and how he looks intense or serious or
menacing or whatever. I always leave those conversations scratching my
head. Not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do with that information.
I'm not going to police Monty's facial expressions, even if I could
figure out how exactly to pull that off. And if his looking at people
in a certain way gets them to pay attention or stop reaching for him or
to move out of our way, well then obviously it's working and I'd like
him to continue that behavior. *smile*
I had one lady that works in the same building that I do tell me that
Monty gave her husband "the look" one day as we were walking by and the
husband was getting ready to back out of his driveway. The result, of
course, is that the guy paid a bit more attention and decided to wait
until we went by. Personally I'd rather Monty use "the look" than a
physical traffic check.
Maybe it's just that people don't expect dogs to be that intelligent or
aware or whatever. The more I work with dogs, the more I believe their
intelligence and awareness is much more than is commonly accepted.
