Why so afraid of a written record and witnesses?
Being adversarial is not a bad thing.  It's actually a process used in readiness events to make sure that things are done properly. It doesn't have nearly the negative connotation you're using here.
What are you so worried about?

It's the weekend. I'm going to talk to them in person next week and go from
there. I am not going to email them because this produces a written record
witch may or may not be beneficial to me. I am going to talk to them one on
one, and off the record and try to resolve this issue amicably.
