Hi Bobby,
Thank you! I have not found much difficulty with training so I'm very confident that I'll do just fine on my test walk next week.
Best, hannah

My message got cut off or moused automatically so here goes;

Part of my message got mouse moved without me knowing it: here it is with addition;

The more you work the dog the better he or she will become.

I have enjoyed the hiking conversations and just wanted to add my two cents in,

I'm a huge huge cruise ship lover. I've been on three one week cruises and one two week cruise all with her greatness Clara. Can't wait to be back at sea now with Prince. No my dog never ever leaves my side especially on any travel:0)

Hanah, your test date is coming DUMDUMDUMDUM LOL two Bobby rules for you to consider

1. If you don't know, don't go

and 2. Pay attention %140 (difficult but you can do it)

When you get home life picks up about 10 times as fast with a new dog so be ready for that and you won't be in doggie heaven no more:0)

rule 1 two and three. Petting, plus Praising plus Playing equals performance.

God Bless and Keep you and Princess safe, happy and may your team over flow with love cuz that makes life AWESOME!

This list while having some drama and confusion in it sometimes is a fantastic tool for you that would have saved some of us 30 year users a lot of head aches if it was around when we were kids. Soooo, Having said that I want to thank all that make this list possible and available that takes quite a bit of work. I for one have to remind myself to thank folks that do extra work.

Finally; When someone talks to my dog now I answer back in a doggie type friendly high pitch soft voice “hi Puppy” answer “hi nice person” it works amazingly:0) I started doing this with Kirstin after I had her for a few years and kept doing it. Woman, “hi doggie”, my answer “hi nice lady stay away from my master he is a very bad boy”.

Mark: Story real short skipping stuff:

Dog guides opened many doors for me but the bedroom door was all my
job:0)

Yes serious magnets:0) but they wait to see your personality and charm kick in. Prove verbally that your not a broken person and that only your eyes don't work, thats the dogs job:0) the ones that get it will um be happy to lets just say spend more quality time with you and the dog:0) watch out that the beautiful young lady don't fall for you, then ask you to leave the dog and depend on her, that would be a huge mistake. I just say I spell MAN NOT BOY:0)

As for the petting in harness, I work with only my dog these days and make him just work right through the pet, if someone blocks me they're in big trouble but if they just reach out and pet even Prince the new boy knows how to work around that.

Hello fellow guide dog handlers,

I have only been amongst your ranks for a few weeks; however, I have noticed a wonderful benefit of having a dog on a college campus. The dog is a total chick magnet. Although I am always trying to tern this to my advantage, I am as yet unsuccessful. It would appear that I am only the geeky side kick to the dog. People remember the dogs name, and say hi to him, by his pseudonym of course, but hardly acknowledge me.

Are I alone in this experience, and what tips and suggestions having you

found to do the following?

1. Somehow get people to leave your dog alone long enough to do what you are trying to do in the first place.

2. When you have the time, get people to pay attention to you for more than
10 seconds.

3. Petting in harness. How to avoid. I tell the people not to pet the dog when he is working, however this is seldom successful. I don't want to be rude because it is typically cute girls cooing over the dog, however, techniques must be successful.

4. As sort of a continuation of 3, because of my saying "no petting in harness" whenever he is off harness I am mobbed.

  5.. What to do about people who are absolutely terrified. I seem to have a hilarious scared the life out of someone moment about once a day.

I look forward to reading your comments on this post. It should be quite

amusing.

Thanks,

Mark
