I haven't been avoid asking your specific question to me. I'm just learning
a lot from everybody else, and don't have a lot to add since they're all
doing a better job than me. Yay! My work here is done. By someone else.

I like Nicole's explanation a lot, actually. It is informative and includes
all the right concepts along with the basic steps.

I know it can sound overwhelming complicated somehow even for the first
steps, but...

Once you take a deep breath, smile at your poodle and go for it, you will
find that it's very simple and fun. Also, you will have fun learning from
your dog, too! Sooner or later, you will realize that taking on new
challenges is something you two are doing together as partners while you
learn together and teach each other. /smile/

That's when it starts to get really fun! /grin/
